Hello and welcome to Birth Calmly Hypnobirthing.
Firstly, huge congratulations on your pregnancy!
My name is Louise and I am a mother to my daughter, Ottilie (3) and my son Ellian who was born in June 2021 and founder of Birth Calmly Hypnobirthing. I am also a fully certified Katharine Graves Hypnobirthing practitioner, accredited by the Royal College of Midwives.
A little about me - I always knew I wanted to be a Mum, and so to find out in January 2018 I was expecting our little bundle of joy was truly magical. I had a wonderful pregnancy and was really excited at the prospect of becoming a mother for the first time, however it was during my pregnancy that I was told many negative birth stories which left me feeling anxious and scared.
I recall very early on in my first trimester that a family friend described the birth of her children as the most ‘empowering experience’ of her life, and it was at that moment where I really started to invest in myself and discovered hypnobirthing. The more I read about it, the more I wanted to try it, and so in my second trimester my husband and I embarked on our hypnobirthing journey together.
We attended a 1:1 private session and at first, were both very sceptical, doubting that it would work, however I soon realised that it was entirely logical. To have my husband with me during the course and experiencing it together, meant we could prepare as best we could for the impending arrival of our baby. His dedication and unwavering support throughout the rest of my pregnancy and during labour was vital and really did make my birth experience so much more empowering, something which I will forever cherish.
If like me, you know what you want from your birth experience – to feel calm, positive, and supported, to minimise the chance of any medical interventions and remain in control of your decisions; then you need to make sure you’re equipped with all the right tools to make it happen.
As a Hypnobirthing teacher I wish to inspire and provide you with the knowledge and practical tools to enable you to have a more positive and calming birth experience. This includes the use of any pain relief and where and how you choose to birth your baby.
